Wordsearch

The ultimate puzzle book for word search enthusiasts was first published over thirty years ago. Popular as ever, it goes from strength to strength.

The magazine offers an irresistible selection of varied word searches. Each issue is packed with fresh, imaginative puzzles with lively topics, appealing to a wide range of readers. Plenty of original thinking underlies the broad range of themes that form the basis of the puzzles.

Many puzzles feature stars from film, television and the music world. Some puzzles have extra challenges, such as secret messages where, once all the items have been found in the grid, the unused letters form a phrase. Every issue features a quiz where the solutions are hidden in a letter grid. There are word trails where the listed words are laid out in a continuous path, a jigsaw word search with the letter grid full of words arranged in jigsaw shapes, and puzzles with words hidden in letter shapes instead of straight lines. There are also opportunities to guess a year or a mystery person from clues contained in a word list.

Short stories and poems are also featured. Other puzzles include a number search, kriss krosses, crosswords, code words and picture puzzles.

Suggestions from readers for word lists are accepted by this title.

The first prize in the regular competition is £1000, with five runner-up prizes of £100.

The design is fresh, bold and clear. Many pages feature attractive artwork complementing the numerous fun-shaped novelty puzzles.
