I joined Puzzler early in 2010 in the role of editor, and have worked on both Pick Me Up Puzzles and Reader's Digest Mind Stretchers. Prior to this, I had a 15-year career as a mathematician and software engineer before retraining as a maths teacher.

I have always been interested in puzzles, and enjoy both the logic- and word-based varieties. My interest in the former is an obvious, and most enjoyable, extension of my love of maths and problem solving. My interest in the latter I would have to attribute to my father, who is well into his nineties and still tackling his daily crossword!

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, wine-tasting and walking with my husband. We recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with one or two choice wines and a bespoke cryptic crossword from The Guardian's Araucaria – the perfect combination.
