In this crossword, every answer begins with one of just five letters. Once solved, the five letters can be rearranged to spell out a final answer word.
From a solver's point of view, there is little to distinguish this puzzle from a standard crossword, although discovering the initial letters of the answers early on in the puzzle is a significant help.
This puzzle poses more problems for the setter than the solver. Sticking to those five initial letters without resorting to obscure answers, or using a very loosely interlocked grid is a challenge. You're likely to see a higher proportion of non-intersected first letters in grids for this puzzle, for obvious reasons.
